Some bandits have displaced 10 communities in Kidandan area of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Checks by our correspondent indicated that the Giwa LGA, especially Kidandan ward, had witnessed a series of bandit attacks since 2016.
A report by Daily Trust identified the communities affected by the renewed activities of the bandits are Mugaba, Nasarawan Hayin Doka, Dokan Yuna, Tunburktu Hayin Dabino, Doka, and Hayin Teacher.
It was learnt that development forced some residents to relocate to Kidandan town and other nearby villages in the LGA.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident, saying troops were currently conducting operations in the area.
The operation paid off as the troops were said to have killed six of the bandits early this week.
There was no official confirmation from either the state or the state police command.
When contacted on the telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mansur Hassan, promised to confirm and get back to our correspondent.
However, he had yet to reach out to our correspondent as of the time of filing this report.
Following renewed bandits’ hostility in Kaduna State, residents of Kidandan in the Giwa LGA, in huge numbers, stormed the palace of the Emir of Zazzau to protest the killing and abduction of villagers by bandits.
The protesters had earlier this week marched through the Zaria/Kaduna Highway to the palace in their hundreds, causing a gridlock.
