There have been reports of the death of Ocheze Ogbonna, a female crane operator at Inner Galaxy Steel Company in Umuahala-Obuzor, Ukwa West Local Government Area, Abia State.
A Chinese national who wished to date Ocheze Ogbonna, a female crane operator at Inner Galaxy Steel Company in Umuahala-Obuzor in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, is suspected of killing her.
Chris Nkwonta, the member of the House of Representatives for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency of Abia State, claims that Ogbonna passed away after being pushed down from the crane by a Chinese expatriate who worked at the Inner Galaxy Steel Company in Umuahala-Obuzor because she turned down his advances for love.
This development follows the death of Ummukulsum Sani Buhari, a Nigerian, by her Chinese lover Frank Geng Quarong, after she ended their relationship.
Quarong had claimed that she had abandoned him after he had spent N60 million on her during their two-year relationship.
“In addition to spending enormous sums of money on her, I used to take her to restaurants like Central Hotel and Bristol Palace. I paid N4 million for her house and N10 million for her car. He had testified in court in Kano that she had used N18 million as startup capital, N500,000 for shoes and bags in her new store, N1 million for laces and wrappers, and N500,000 for a house in Abuja that she had begun to build.
He continued by saying that he paid N5 million for her gold jewelry, N6 million for her certificate processing at Sokoto University, and N1 million for solar panel installation in their home.
The federal lawmaker, meanwhile, has expressed his profound sorrow over the passing of Ocheze, a constituent, and he has called the Chinese expat’s purported action “wicked.”
Notwithstanding the fact that his district is recognized for its tranquility, the federal representative insisted on the victim’s justice.
“Miss Ocheze Ogbonna’s death, which was planned by a Chinese expat, is an insult to their host community, Umuahala-Obuzor, and the peace-loving residents of Ukwa West Local Government Area. It also represents a flagrant violation of the rules of engagement and a complete disregard for human life.”
“This heinous deed brings to remembrance the persistent appeals from well-meaning Nigerians that the Chinese expatriates functioning in Nigeria exhibit disregard for human life and should be summoned promptly to prevent the collapse of law and order.”
“I vehemently denounce the heinous deed and vicious murder of the late Miss Ocheze Ogbonna by the Chinese expat, Mr. Power.
“In order to ensure that the culprit, who I understand is being shielded by the security agents, is brought to book and made to face the full wrath of the law, I hereby call on the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, the Honourable Minister of State, Labour and Productivity, Hon. Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, and the Trade Union Congress (TUC),” the statement read.
