Grant to provide opportunities for skill development, career advancement and help bridge gender gap in STEM
She Code Africa has received funding from FedEx, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, to help 100 African women kickstart their careers in the tech industry. This support includes teaching participants tech skills, guiding their career paths, providing resources, and offering internship opportunities.
In an impactful initiative and exciting partnership with FedEx, She Code Africa (SCA) is set to launch Cohort 1 of its highly anticipated She Code Africa Academy Program. Designed as a 12-week intensive learning to run from April to June 2024, this program aims to empower 100 African women between the ages of 18 and 45 in Software Engineering, Product Design, and Product Management. Applications are now open for its first cohort.
She Code Africa is a non-profit organisation targeted at training, empowering, and celebrating African women in tech. The organisation has a track record of impact-driven programs and has partnered with FedEx to bring this one to life.

Partnering with She Code Africa gives us the opportunity to empower women in STEM to further enhance the workplace dynamics and shape a brighter future.
This collaboration strengthens our commitment towards Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, reaffirming our stance that constant progress and change are imperative for advancing gender equality.”
Participants in the academy program will have the unique opportunity to engage with a comprehensive curriculum from She Code Africa’s School of Product (encompassing Product Design and Product Management) and the School of Engineering (covering Software Development).
This innovative program offers a flexible, Africa-remote learning experience, making it accessible to women residing across the continent regardless of their location. Top participants from each track, who demonstrate exceptional performance, will have the unique opportunity to participate in a 1-month paid internship with the She Code Africa team, focusing on the development of engineering products and platforms for social impact.
Targeting African women from diverse backgrounds, She Code Africa is dedicated to closing the gender gap in the tech industry. The Academy Program seeks to equip participants with the skills and confidence to thrive in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
